If you have more questions, please contact the Vice President of Recruitment Operations at Recruitment@RenoPanhellenic.org.
Is a sorority right for me?
If you are looking for a way to be involved on campus and connect with like-minded women, YES! If you are interested in meeting new people, gaining leadership skills, excelling academically, and giving back to the community, a sorority is a wonderful opportunity to do all these things!
What if I have class during recruitment?
We will absolutely schedule you to recruitment events outside of your class hours. You are expected to attend school during the recruitment week! You will complete a form with your class conflicts and we will work with you to ensure you can attend recruitment. We will also do our best to work around religious holidays, athletic conflicts, and rare occasions (ex. family wedding, birth, etc.).

We can attempt to work around job schedules for students who are working, but we ask you request work off for as much time possible during recruitment.
How much does it cost to be in a sorority?
You are expected to pay fees, known as dues, when you join a sorority. Check out the General Information page for information about what your dues go to and what to expect in costs.
Do I need to attend every event I am scheduled?
Yes! You are required to attend every event you are scheduled. If you are scheduled to an event of which you have class or will not be present, let a Rho Gamma know ASAP so we can attempt to reschedule you. Missing any events may result in loosing opportunities to match with chapters or releasing you from the recruitment process.
I finished my registration, now what?
YAY! There are a few next steps to prepare for recruitment!
1. Make sure you pay the registration fee
2. Watch out for communication from a Recruitment Counselor (known as Rho Gamma). She will be your point of contact for updates and the person to ask all your questions!
3. OPTIONAL: complete the Potential New Member Orientation online course! The course provides all the information you could possibly need to know for recruitment! You will be automatically added to this :)
3. Attend the Fraternity and Sorority Life Fair and Club Fair during the first week of school to meet the organizations and get to know who is who!
4. Attend the In-Person Recruitment Orientation on Friday, Sept. 5th. If you cannot attend in-person, the online course will be required for you!
5. Attend recruitment! Sunday, Sept. 7th - Saturday Sept. 13th.
6. From now until then, GET EXCITED!
Do I need a Recommendation Letter?
A recommendation letter is a letter written by a sorority alumna or current sorority member that may recommend a woman going through recruitment for membership. If you have someone who would like to write you a recommendation letter, they are welcome to do so. Recommendation letter guidelines and submissions can be found on each sorority chapter's national website.

Recommendation letters are NOT required. Not having a recommendation letter will in no way impede your recruitment process. Chapters may or may not review recommendation letters prior to recruitment.
