Our Values

Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Nevada, Reno has a set of values that all students live out each day. All Panhellenic women also uphold and enact these values in their everyday lives. We are excited to share what these values look like in practice!

01

Leadership

Leadership is a core value in sororities, seen through both formal roles and everyday actions. Members take initiative by serving as chapter officers. As officers, they may lead through organizing events, mentoring newer sisters, creating service opportunities, and so much more. Whether coordinating a philanthropy fundraiser or offering guidance as a “big,” sorority women grow as confident, capable leaders who make a lasting impact within their chapter and beyond.

02

Academic Achievement

Academic achievement is a key value in sororities, supported through structured study hours, academic mentorship, and recognition programs. Members are encouraged to prioritize their education with the help of scholarship chairs, peer accountability, and chapter-wide goals. Whether through tutoring, GPA incentives, or study groups, sororities foster a culture where academic success is both expected and celebrated. AND, our Panhellenic average GPA was a 3.19, which is higher than both the undergraduate average and the all women's average on campus!

Community Engagement

Engaging with the community is at the heart of sorority life, with members actively participating in volunteer work and organizing events to support national and local causes. From hosting fundraising events to participating in hands-on service projects, sorority women make a meaningful impact while strengthening bonds within their chapters and communities. These efforts reflect a shared commitment to giving back and leading with purpose.

04

Friendship and Sisterhood

Friendship is a cornerstone of sorority life, forming bonds that often last well beyond college. Through shared experiences, like late-night study sessions, community service, and celebrating personal milestones, sisters build deep, supportive relationships. These connections provide a reliable support system, offering encouragement during hard times while also celebrating successes together. The camaraderie and mutual support fosters a sense of belonging and lifelong friendship unlike any other organization on a college campus.
